You can now command your Xbox One to turn volume up or down, or use the Xbox Smartglass mobile app to adjust volume and turn the Xbox One and TV on and off.
Down controls for TV on XBOX one S requires a kinect? : xboxone
My XBOX successfully detects my tv and turns it on/off automatically but now I want to control the volume and see if it works. I don't have kinect but xbox support is stressing the fact I do need a kinect for the volume controls to work, is this accurate? I thought the XBOX ONE S had an IR blaster built-in so I don't need a kinect. Thanks in advance
Xbox app cant change volume on tv anymore
Ive been using the xbox one companion app for about a year now and up until recently the volume control has stopped working. Everything else works fine; the controller buttons, home button, i can turn it off and on. Lost the remote to the tv ages ago and have been relying on the app to change my volume. Modern inconvenience, but i dont want to keep walking to the tv and reaching behind to accidentally hit the channel button then switching the input back to hdmi 2 then to finally find the volume button. Anyways just looking to see if anyone has the same problem with the app and to see if theres a fix.
Xbox One Volume Control
Q: How can I change the volume on my TV/AVR by using the Xbox One? This can be done through voice, using the Xbox volume up/down and Xbox mute/unmute commands. However, the volume up/down commands only make a small volume change, so to make a large change to volume would be a lot of Xbox volume up/down commands. After the SmartGlass is connected to an Xbox One (that has been configured to control TV/AVR), a volume icon is shown in the bottom right corner (see screen shot below). Press the volume icon to see plus, minus and mute icons to quickly change the volume.
How to get the Xbox One to turn on/off TV & change volume?
Hi,Hope someone can help me here as this issue is driving me nuts!! I initially managed to get my Xbox One X to automatically switch on/off the tv (Sony KD43XF8096BU) once i shut down the Xbox or fired it up. However I then had to change the HDMI cables (changed to longer cables) and since then I'm unable to get the Xbox to switch on/off the TV - even going back to the original HDMI cable setup hasn't fixed this. I have spent hours and hours trying to get this working, but simply can't. Also how on earth are you supposed to change the TV volume through the Xbox as there aren't any volume up/down buttons on the xbox controller or on the Talon remote?Cheers
