I just got my Xbox One and tried to connect it to my portable speaker. But there is no normal aux port on the Xbox One to plug a 3.5mm cable and connect to my external speaker. Its really frustrating that a Home entertainment system can't even connect to a speaker. Please be advised that my monitor doesnt have built-in speakers, and it can't connect to any external sound bar or speaker. I just can't stand the fact that I cant connect the xbox to a normal speaker.

Hi all, I got my kids a One S console for Xmas and have this plugged in to a monitor which does not have inbuilt speakers (or a speaker out port). At the moment my son just used headphones plugged in to the controller and he is happy but I wouldn't mind getting some speakers to use with it. I have some old PC speakers and thought there was a standard audio port on the back of the Xbox but just get a load of static noise when I plug in there - do you have to use the optical out port for audio?
